President

Ron, our team leader, has over 50 years of experience in the construction industry and
works directly with each client to ensure total and complete satisfaction throughout the
remodeling and building process. As a registered builder with the Building Industry
Association of Louisville, he is committed to adhering to the high standards the
Association requires, as well as, the high standards he sets for himself and the Colyer
Construction team as owner of Colyer Construction.

Yearly continuing education is where he gains awareness of the latest construction
methods and high-tech building methods. This also enables him to stay current with all
building codes and regulations. He keeps up with innovative design and decorating
styles to offer his clients the latest trends in home remodeling and building.

The foundation of Ron’s approach is keeping the client’s vision and needs, and
satisfaction at the center of the entire process of the project.

Project Manager

Fred Engel, our Foreman, has been with the Colyer Construction team since 2003. Fred has over 30 years experience in homebuilding and remodeling.

He manages and coordinates projects from conception to completion. He supervises each job site to ensure safety, quality, and complete customer satisfaction.

Project Coordinator

With over a decade of experience in the project management field, Hunter Childers is our Project Coordinator, bringing both strategic and organizational skills to your remodel. Hunter holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and media studies from Georgetown College, providing a solid foundation for his expertise.

In his current role, Hunter is involved from your project from day one. From meeting with you at your home from the first initial visit to the final walk through, Hunter will have consistent communication with you and the project managers on site at your home.

Hunter also has nearly a decade of commitment in the Kentucky Army National Guard, serving as a commissioned officer in the logistical field.

Outside of work, Hunter enjoys spending time with his wife Hayley, his son CJ (Colyer- Joshua), and his golden doodle, Chewy. Hunter also is an assistant basketball coach for Christian Academy of Louisville high school team.

Hunter’s dedication to excellence and his collaborative spirit make him a valued asset to our team.

Project Superintendent

Scott Wakefield is our Construction Superintendent and has 15 years of experience working in the industrial and construction settings.  Scott’s attention to detail and his strong communication skills make him an invaluable member of the Colyer Construction team.

Scott grew up working on this family’s farm and also worked the night shift at UPS during his college years. He was a Metal Repairman at Ford Motor Company for 5 years.  After Ford, he worked as a Residential Electrician for over 3 years before joining our team. He brings a well-versed set of skills with him.

Scott is an avid outdoorsman and loves spending time with his family and friends going hunting and fishing. He and his wife, Emily, of 10 years have 2 children.  An 11 year old son that he has coached the last 4 years at the local youth football league and their 7 year old daughter who loves cheerleading and school activities. 

Office Administrator

Kat has 20 years of experience as an Office Administrator in a variety of fields. She
brings her experience to Colyer Construction Company, ensuring the smooth and
efficient running of daily operations. Kat will assist you throughout the entire process of
your home and remodeling project with ongoing communication to make sure your
needs are addressed every step of the way. Kat’s positive nature and commitment to
our clients makes her an integral part of our team.

Digital Media Associate

As the Digital Media Associate at Colyer Construction, Lucy specializes in enhancing the company’s online presence through strategic social media management, creative marketing campaigns, and high-quality photography. With a keen eye for visual storytelling, Lucy brings the construction and remodeling industry to life by showcasing the company’s projects and craftsmanship through engaging digital content. She is passionate about using digital platforms to build meaningful connections with clients and the community, making Colyer Construction a leader in the industry’s online landscape.
